Community Concerns

St. Luke Lutheran Church is a “service” focused church. There are many ways for you to join us in helping our local community and beyond.

“Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?

“When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?

“When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?”

The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you “did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25: 37-40)

We are a body of Christ together.

Children’s Clothing Closet

The Children’s Clothes Closet was established for families, friends and the surrounding community of St. Luke Lutheran Church.  Its purpose is to be a resource where clothing, coats and shoes for Boy’s and Girl’s ages newborn to 14 can be shared and exchanged.  The usable clothing that has been outgrown is donated, sorted by type, size and made available to anyone needing it.  Clothing that remains usable can be laundered and returned to the Closet for use by another family.

Chicks in Crisis – We collect and donate women’s clothes and baby diapers to support and help homeless women and women facing unwanted pregnancies.

Elk Grove Food Bank and South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership

Back Packs and School SuppliesWe collect and donate Back Packs and School Supplies for needy kids for local schools such as Fortune School.    In 2023, we donated filled back packs for 70 kids.  In 2024, our goal is to be able to donate 80 filled back packs.
